Hey everybody! Another great week has come and gone here in Papara. It's funny, the longer I am on my mission, the harder it gets to write emails. I think I spent all two years of my cleverness in the first year of emails, so send a few prayers my way to keep me pumpin out something worth reading.
So, some fun changes this week. Elder Mariteragi who has been waiting for a visa to get over to Africa got the visa and bounced out yesterday, and I'm gonna miss him, but he is gonna be great over there. So for the next three weeks I am in a trio with Elder Bennett and Elder Moore, for Maraa and Papara. It is gonna be crazy trying to get all organized with two busy sectors, and two big sectors, all on bike, so wish us luck!
So about the subject line. The Assistants came to pick up Elder Matiteragi last night and we were chatting for a bit, and one of the Assistants decided to drop some heavy words of wisdom, so he put his hand on my shoulder, started with 'always remember', took a big breath... And totally blanked. Haha he just ended up shrugging his shoulders and walking off, but man was I laughing.
We had an awesome stake conference, with Elder Johansson from the seventy (definitely spelled his name wrong), and he was awesome. It was also fun because he is tongan, and speaks english, so he gave all his talks in english and there was a translator for everyone else. One of my favorite stories was this:
"I was out of town, and decided to send a text to a couple who I home taught, who was inactive. I told them that if they wanted to go to church, my wife could give them a ride. They responded and said that they just felt like another number, and nothing important. I didn't know how to respond, so I prayed and the response I was told to send was 'if you ever feel like you are just another number, always remember that you are number 1'. Needless to say they started coming back to church."
Oh man that story got me laughing, but it is also a great example on the great impact we can have on others ministering. If we listen to the spirit, and do all we can to let others know that we care for them and are there for them, we can have an amazing impact! Love you all and have a great week!
