Elder Kerr, Kaua Marama, and Elder Kimball    Merry Christmas everybody! I hope that you are all having a wonderful time! If you all are half as happy as I am this Christmas than you are probably having the best Christmas ever! Christmas as a missionary is the best!!!!!      Well huge highlight was getting to call home!!!! It was so awesome to get to see and talk with my family!! I got to talk with McKade for a little bit too which was super fun. I don't want to trash on his french skills, but... anyway, great times!! It is crazy how much I am learning to appreciate so many things that I took for granted before the mission. Just an hour talking with my family made my life!! Everybody spend some quality time with your families for me! The podium at church decorated for Christmas.     The ward Christmas concert was so fun. The four missionaries on this side of the island and all the ward missionaries got to sing a bunch of songs and it was a ton of fun! The member

Wheat Bix - Sent Dec. 17, 2017

Elders Kimball, Kerr and Taylor           So I want to start with a little story of my new least favorite food. It's called Wheat bix. They don't really have a lot of cereal options here in Tahaa, and my good friend Elder Brown who is on Raiatea said I should look for wheat bix, and that they are the best. A lot of other elder's tried to warn me, but I really trusted Elder Brown. I finally found them this week at the store (the options are super inconsistent), and decided to try them out. I had them  Tuesday  morning and they were pretty bad. And my stomach felt a little funny for a bit, but then all was fine. Then  Wednesday  I realized I needed to eat them because I was the one who voted on buying them, and I pounded them. Without going into too much detail, lets just say I took a solid sick day with more than enough symptoms to justify it, my stomach was going crazy. Thanks Wheat bix.  We had a baptism this week and it was awesome. He has been an investigato

Just Some Guys Being Elders- Sent Dec. 11th

Where we had our district meeting.      Well, we had a pretty good week! It is crazy how hot it is here. I got totally sunburned biking to Tapuamu and back (about an hour both ways). Definitely not Christmas weather, but all of our decorations make it feel like Christmas. Fun stuff!    So just a funny story to try to paint a picture of what life here is like. We were biking away from a lesson on some little dirt road. On one side of the dirt road is an open area with some cows, way random, and the other side is a ton of trees. There are actually lots of trees on the cow side as well, it is just more open than the other side. Anyway, we are biking down the road and hear someone yell "Elder ma!" (Ma is a Tahitian word that basically means "and everyone in company", so every one calls us Elder ma). We were looking around and didn't see anyone, the area was pretty enclosed by barbwire and trees so we were confused, but the call kept coming. Finally we look

Cement Bath - Sent Dec. 4th

Hey everybody! Sorry I have been slacking hard on emails, the wifi at the church has been down, and unlike in America, nobody really has wifi here so we had to find the one person who does and crash there and needless to say it wasn't a good time for emails. But the wifi is back so now I can email again!     So my subject line is about a service project we did. Someone in the ward is making a snack, basically just a little place to sell food, and we needed to cement it. The job for me and my companion was to shovel all the cement mix in the machine, then wheelbarrow it to where they needed it, so we were in the splash zone. The pictures actually don't make us look like we got to covered, but we were super splashed with is. It was a lot of fun though and made a really good impression on some members and some non members!    So I need to throw out a Tahitian phrase. It is Faatamaaraa. It basically means feast. It is pretty cool how all the prefixis and suffixis work. Maa
