Na Na Tahaa! Sent April 23, 2018

Well, finally getting transferred off of Tahaa! I have spent 7 months here and it is crazy how much I have grown to love all of the people here. I am really going to miss it. I have been so blessed to serve on both sides of this island and meet all of the amazing people here. It is literally at the point where I recognize the majority of people I pass on the street, love it!!!     I will be transferred to Tahiti, and I am pretty excited. I will be finishing the training of someone who came in with my son, so that will be great. Also, I am going to be in the same house as Gerrit Moore (Sorry if I spelled the name wrong), who is a friend from high school, so I am pretty darn pumped about that! Next transfer is going to be awesome! Not to mention I am going from the biggest biking sector to a sector with a car, blessings in abundance.     I want to share a really cool experience that I had that showed me how the spirit really does direct this work. About two weeks ago, we

Flying Chickens!! Sent April 16, 2018

Well, it feels like a TON happened this week, so I will try to be as organized as possible in my thoughts. First off, the talk "Beware of Pride" by Ezra Taft Benson April 1989 is incredible. I read it twice in a row, the first time I was thinking about how much it would help other people if they read it, but then I realized I needed to humble myself and I read it to see what I needed to change and that was amazing. Felt the spirit really strong and learned a ton! I really encourage you all to read that one, it's awesome!   As for the subject lines, probably one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life. And I promise I am not joking, this story is real! We were biking along last thursday, and there was some chicken running along the side of the road. No big deal, there are millions of chickens here, didn't think much of it. But then it started clucking and flapping its wings like crazy and it took off in flight!! It flew across the street in front

Boom Roasted! / Sent April 9, 2018

Another great week on the beautiful Island of Tahaa! That being said, can't really think of anything too specific to share, so I'm gonna let you all off easy this week with a short one.    Awesome news, on Sunday, literally nothing fell through! Our whole day went exactly as planned. That might very well be the first time that has ever happened on my mission. Great end of a week that started with 11 of 14 lessons falling through in the first three days. We have gotten pretty good at making plan B's, C's and all the way to Z's. Love every minute!   Got to end with some awesome scripture study I had this week. Can I just say that Book of Mormon prophets are so savage!! Man I laugh so hard reading that book sometimes, I think my companion thinks I'm crazy. Alma  11:23 . My subject line is what I wrote in the margin of my scriptures. I highly recommend reading all of chapters 11 and 12 for a seriously amazing read. Along with the great "wish I was allo

Conference! Sent April 2, 2018

Wow! Wow! General Conference was AMAZING! Words can't even describe it. If you haven't watched it yet, stop reading my email and go watch it! Especially President Nelson's talk in the  Sunday Morning session. So inspired this week.   Anyway, that was probably totally the highlight of my week. Conference was so great. But because I have a little bit of time, I will share a random story that happened this week. So, in French polynisia, probably the scariest bug is the centipede. They are HUGE, and apparently it hurts really really really bad if it bites you. Well I was leaning against a door frame talking to a member, and suddenly he was like "Woah! Look at that!" I turned and there was a huge centipede right above me in the door frame! I jumped back a few steps and he went to go get a little wooden pole or something to kill it with. He smashed it so hard, but when he pulled back, the thing was still alive, and it was mad! The member took another hit at it

8 Months!

Holy cow can you guys believe that today is my 8 Month mark!?! That means I am already a third of the way done with the mission! It goes too fast! It feels like I just got here!    But man, this week was pretty awesome, we were so busy. We have been working so hard at getting the branch hyped on missionary work, and it is working! We have members who come and knock doors with us, members who go and visit the investigators, and who come on splits with us! It is the best! The members here are so nice and humble, I am so inspired by them and by their service, it is incredible.   I need to give a shout out to one of my favorite members, and to his truck. His name is Frère Tetuanui (Frère just means brother), and he is awesome. He is a big guy, no front teeth (super common), and he is missing an ear (less common). Anyway, two stories about him and his truck. So his truck is totally like something you would see in an Indiana Jones movie or something. It is greeni
