Flying Chickens!! Sent April 16, 2018

Well, it feels like a TON happened this week, so I will try to be as organized as possible in my thoughts. First off, the talk "Beware of Pride" by Ezra Taft Benson April 1989 is incredible. I read it twice in a row, the first time I was thinking about how much it would help other people if they read it, but then I realized I needed to humble myself and I read it to see what I needed to change and that was amazing. Felt the spirit really strong and learned a ton! I really encourage you all to read that one, it's awesome!

As for the subject lines, probably one of the craziest things I have ever seen in my life. And I promise I am not joking, this story is real! We were biking along last thursday, and there was some chicken running along the side of the road. No big deal, there are millions of chickens here, didn't think much of it. But then it started clucking and flapping its wings like crazy and it took off in flight!! It flew across the street in front of us and up and over the telephone wires! Then it didn't even stop there, it went up above the trees and vanished in the distance. I was speechless for about 5 minutes, it was incredible.

Anyway, other than that, here are a few highlights of the week:

Taught a whole lesson sitting on a coconut.

Had a zone conference at Raiatea, super awesome.

Have had multiple cravings for Kneaders french toast. Please someone go eat that for me.

Stepped on a wasps nest during a hike. That wasn't fun, probably got about 7 stings, so not too bad, but crazy enough nobody else even got stung, classic.

Also had to dodge some cows in the middle of the trail on the hike.

Did a split with Elder Schlitters, so that was great!

And that about sums up the week! I was reading some other missionary emails and I think mine might be a little to casual. So I just want to end with my testimony. This mission has been without doubt the best experience of my life. I have learned a ton and still have a ton to learn. And I can say without doubt that Jesus Christ came to earth, suffered and died so that all of us could turn to him and be saved. Everything he does for us, blessings, afflictions, commandments, etc., is for our good and is because he loves us. I testify that if we turn our lives towards Christ, follow his prophet and follow his example, we will have so much joy in our lives!!!!! I love the Gospel and I love my Savior. Thanks for all the love and support and have a great week!
Me right after the bee's attacked!
