From Holly -- Braden has not been able to send any pictures the last few weeks because of spotty wifi service.  I guess we have to remember that he is on a dot of an island in the middle of the Pacific ocean thousands of miles away from anything else.  We are blessed to get an e-mail each week!  This week he did not send a large group e-mail, but did answer some questions we sent to him.    Hey family! It is so good to hear from you, as always.   QUESTION -- "WHAT DO YOU DO FOR EXERCISE?  HOW DO YOU BLOW OFF STEAM?" 1. I run almost every morning. I either run with elder Taylor,  and when he doesn't want to Elder kimball just bikes next to me. There are a couple brothers in the ward who want to run with me  next Saturday . We were gonna do it last Saturday,  but it was dumping rain so we didn't.  One of them is about 16 and pretry thin, and his bro is 11 and chubby. They crack me up, they are totally the kind of kids who dab all over. The 11 year old said he

Tini my man!! Sent November 20th, 2017

Hey everyone!  Happy Thanksgiving!! I actually forgot about thanksgiving until I read about it in people emails, so not really a thing here, but no worries! It will still be a great day!   So I have very little time to email this week because I am in Raiatea, so I am just gonna talk about our new investigator, Tini.   The other elders in our house have been teaching a kid, about 17, named robert. He is really progressing, but is never at home, because his dad is drunk about 24/7. So classic missionary approach, lets just teach the dad! The dad lives in our sector, so I got to teach him, and it was the most amazing lesson! The spirit was so strong and he committed to baptism on the first lesson!!! He said he wants to change his life!! He came to church with his son and fasted with us, and told us how it was the first time his son and him have spent time together like that and they were both beeming!! And other that having to most amazing faith, he is way funny too. Every tim

And the Work Goes On! Sent Nov. 13th

Man this week was crazy. It felt so long, and at the same time it felt like it flew by. With transfers and everything it was nuts, but super good. The work is still progressing here and I seem to be figuring out how to actually be a missionary, so good stuff!   I dropped Elder McQuiston off on the boat to Raiatea, that's where he is serving now, as our zone leader. Then later that day Elder Kimball, me new companion arrived on a boat on the other side of the island, then took a bus to our area. It was a little crazy because he arrived about 15 minutes before a lesson, and we had a bunch piled up, so he didn't even get to the house until the evening. I was a little worried about the transfer, because he isn't that much more experienced than me, but he is awesome. We are already pretty tight and working well together, and his french is great, so that is awesome.   I was scared that after transfers the work would slow down here, but not at all. Let me tell you a bit

House of Babies! Sent Nov. 6th

Well, Happy Halloween everybody! Halloween doesn't really exist over here, but I decided to wish you all a happy one anyway, and it leads nicely into my first funny story (I have a good amount of funny stories this week).    So first funny story, as usual, it has to do with a language error. So the only Halloween thing I saw going on was the young women were watching a scary movie, and their leader was cooking for it. My companion asked me what kind of stuff people eat for Halloween in America (He's American, so I don't why he asked me, I guess he couldn't think of anything). Well I thought about it and realized the answer was pretty much just candy. So as we were walking out, past a bunch of kids, I said in french that Halloween food is candy. Well my companion died of laughter and I knew I said something wrong. Apparently Le Bonbon is candy and Les Bonbon is a drug. I said the second. Bummer. But always a good language learning experience!   The second sto
