Iaorana tatou! Another week has come and gone. And best news ever, they hooked us up with a car! Ever since I have been in a trio in two sectors, bike has been way tiring, and even though it is great to be closer to everyone in bike, I sure was grateful to have a car this weekend when Noah's flood take two decided to drop it.    Funny story.  Sunday  night we were at a fireside type thing, and after it was all over, Bishop thanked everyone for coming and told everyone to go to the back for refreshments. Once everyone was up and moving and talking, suddenly Bishop was like  "Wait, we forgot to bless the food!" So the ward mission leader ran up to the microphone and started praying, but literally nobody noticed so everyone was just still talking and moving around. By the time the prayer was over, most people seemed to have noticed he was praying, but I was laughing pretty hard. And that kind of story is not uncommon here in Tahiti. I think every missionary here has b

Me with Elder Mariteragi.  Hey everyone! Hope you have all had a wonderful week! Because my week was pretty great!! Actually, it was pretty normal, but Saturday we had the baptism of Heiarii, so that was awesome! He is the best.   Heiarii is the perfect example of why I came on my mission. Before we found him his life had a ton of problems, and he wasn't really going anywhere. But the change has been amazing! He is so happy now and he is so motivated! He is now planning on serving a mission (He turns 21 this august), and he is a beast. The baptism was great and I was able to confirm him Sunday!   So funny story of the week. At the chapel, if you are standing in the perfect place, you can see pretty far into the bathrooms. I happened to lean against a wall right in that place, and when I looked up, I was staring right into the womans bathroom, and made eye contact with a sister missionary at the sinks. So what did I do? I waved. Well lets just say that quickly turned i

Always remember . . . / Sent July 25, 2018

Hey everybody! Another great week has come and gone here in Papara. It's funny, the longer I am on my mission, the harder it gets to write emails. I think I spent all two years of my cleverness in the first year of emails, so send a few prayers my way to keep me pumpin out something worth reading.    So, some fun changes this week. Elder Mariteragi who has been waiting for a visa to get over to Africa got the visa and bounced out yesterday, and I'm gonna miss him, but he is gonna be great over there. So for the next three weeks I am in a trio with Elder Bennett and Elder Moore, for Maraa and Papara. It is gonna be crazy trying to get all organized with two busy sectors, and two big sectors, all on bike, so wish us luck!    So about the subject line. The Assistants came to pick up Elder Matiteragi last night and we were chatting for a bit, and one of the Assistants decided to drop some heavy words of wisdom, so he put his hand on my shoulder, started with 'always rem
