Hi guys! The MTC has been crazy, but so awesome. I already love it here. They are not messing around though! I went to bed so tired on Wednesday and on Thursday, and I probably will again tonight. And more crazyness, I am teaching my first investigator tonight! In French!!! You can probably imagine how terrifying that is, but I am also pumped. I can't believe how much french I have already learned. Listening to all the Elders who are going to Tahiti who have been here for six weeks talking in french gives me tons of confidence. It is a lot of work but the payoff is amazing!
I have been so blessed with an awesome district and an AMAZING companion. My companion is named Elder Ashworth and he is super cool. He is from Boise Idaho and just finished his first year of college at BYU. I think he is the only Elder in my district not straight out of high school, and it is awesome to see his maturity from just one year away from home. He was called to be the district leader (which basically just means he picks up mail), but I know for sure he will be a leader his whole mission. I love the insight I get from him during companionship study. The rest of my district is cool too. They all have about the same amount of knowledge as I do when it comes to french, a little bit of high school french. And we are all so pumped when it comes to learning the language. Right after I am done with emails it is time for companionship study and language study and none of us can wait!
Mckade is in my zone and he rooms right next to me, so I will see him at least a couple of times a day which is awesome. I have seen so many people from Bountiful here! First thing after getting dropped off I ran into Elder Gerber and gave him a huge hug and that was a giant blessing. I kind of lucked out in the rooming situation, because the rooms are made to have six people, and mine only has four, so it is a little bit roomier.
I really don't have a whole lot more to share, I've only been here two days after all. Honestly, I'm surprised I had this much to say. I want to share one thought before I end. I was interviewing with a member of the branch president and he said something that really hit me. He said "The only person you should compare yourself with is yourself yesterday". I loved that because it shows that it doesn't matter if I'm not picking up french as fast as others or as knowledgeable as others, it only matters that I give it my all and grow from the day before. I love you all and I love it here! Have a great week!
