Merry Christmas!
So, about the subject line, today is Christmas! My district, McKade's district, and one other district have all gotten super tight, and we decided since we won't be together for Christmas, to celebrate it on the 25th of August! We sung Christmas hymns for Christmas Eve yesterday and again today! We even did a secret santa exchange. It has honestly been super fun, and a great opportunity to think about Christ. We are trying to focus on Christ in out studies to celebrate and it is awesome!! That's why I love this place, where else would something like this happen!?
1. I wrote a few sentences on the board for my french study time. It was a good shoulder workout.
2. We got our Tahitian name tags!!
Today is my halfway point in the MTC. It is crazy, because I feel like I have been here forever, and I feel like I just got there. And I want to be in Tahiti so bad, but I don't feel near enough ready. It will definitely be weird and sad to have McKade and his district leave in about a week, but I am pumped for him! This is truly the Lords work, and we are going to have the opportunity to bless lives all around the world!
So awesome news, I really don't know that much about it, but apparently my mission president just opened up a bunch of new islands that have never seen missionaries for missionary work!!! How cool is that!! One of the elders that left for Tahiti last week got sent to one, and has to learn a whole new language that isn't French or Tahitian because it is so far away! He really liked the Tahitian language, so I told him to pray to get sent to an outer island to have more of an opportunity to speak it. I guess he prayed a little to hard . But it is crazy to think I could get sent somewhere that has never heard of the church. The Lord really is hastening his work!
I can't think of a funny story, so with his permission, I will share my companions habit of forgetting everything. It has become quite the joke that he forgets or loses everything. We have gotten to know the lost and found staff at pretty much every building here, and in the temple. He is learning the language super well though, so I told him I think he is just using all of his memory space for the language. If any of you find a watch, or a pen, or a french Book of Mormon, or a french study guide, or a planner, or a name tag, let me know, it might be my companions .
To end with a spiritual thought, I know that God knows us all personally and cares about the details in our lives. Elder Bednar challenged that when you have a question about the church, buy a fresh Book of Mormon and read the whole thing and mark it up based just on that question. When you finish, you will have the answer and you can start with a new question! I just started mine this week, and I have honestly already found so much just in the first few chapters. It is amazing, there are so many answers there that you will never know about until you look for them specifically. It is an inspired book, and if any of you have questions or trials of faith, try that challenge, I can promise you that you will find your answer if you really look for it and pray with faith. Love you all! Have a great week!
